INFORMED-CHOICE

INFORMED-CHOICE tests supplements and their ingredients for inadvertent contamination with substances prohibited by WADA (the World Anti Doping Agency).

Anyone choosing a supplement for themsleves or others can now make an informed choice based on appropriate and rigorous tests.  Simply look for the INFORMED-CHOICE logo.

IMPORTANT NEWS

INFORMED-CHOICE is now the ONLY supplement testing program that uses a WADA-experienced lab and ISO 17025 accredited analytical methods to analyse for banned substances within top level sports. WADA (the World Anti-Doping Agency) has prohibited ANY of their current labs from undertaking ANY testing of supplements for quality assurance purposes.

INFORMED-CHOICE is working with HFL, a WADA-experienced lab in the UK that is committed to the long term provision of testing services to the supplement industry. HFL is the world's largest sports regulatory and research lab, and the world's most experienced provider of commercial supplement testing services.

Why Are Tests Necessary?

Responsibility for the quality of a product rests entirely with the manufacturer and reputable manufacturers do everything in their power to keep their supplements free of contamination.  However, even trace levels of contamination are potentially important and require a sensitivity of testing beyond most quality control systems.

The INFORMED-CHOICE standard provides a defined specification based in the very best scientific expertise to both manufacturers and consumers and reassurance that products bearing an INFORMED-CHOICE logo can be trusted.

The key issue is that  all tests MUST be accredited to the ISO17025 standard for all substances, in all supplement types (powders, liquids, capsules, tablets and bars).  Without this, tests to prove the ABSENCE of contamination CANNOT be trusted.
